Mississippi became one of the nations only destinations for legal sports betting in 2018, and sports fans from all over have been getting in on the action and placing their best bets ever since.

Sports and the Hospitality State have long gone hand in hand. Walter Payton, Brett Favre, Will Clark and Monta Ellis. These are just a few of the countless all-star athletes to come out of Mississippi, and now fans from all around will have the opportunity to get even closer to the action.

“This state loves sports says Milton Segarra, CDME, of Coastal Mississippi. “It’s a perfect fit for the casinos here to make that connection. And not only will visitors find first-class casinos, they’ll also be able to have a great time enjoying our restaurants, beaches and parks and our beautiful natural surroundings. You can’t find that combination in too many places, but you can find it here.”

Fans are able to make wagers on both college and professional games in football, baseball and basketball. Outside of Nevada, Mississippi is the only state that allows betting on in-state college teams, and only two other states—both in the Northeast—offer any form of sports betting.

“Most of the casinos have invested significantly in their facilities to accommodate the new sports betting opportunities, and the casinos’ new areas dedicated to sports betting are beautiful and full of technology to enhance the betting experience,” says Segarra.

Sports betting is available at casinos in Mississippi’s Delta, Pines, Coast and Capital/River regions, making it easy to find a nearby destination to dive into the action, no matter where you are in the state. The list of casinos offering sports betting includes Palace, Hard Rock, Beau Rivage, IP Casino, Harrah’s, Hollywood, Island View and Boomtown on the Coast; Magnolia Bluffs in Natchez; Resorts Casino, 1st Jackpot and Hollywood in Tunica; and Pearl River Resort in Choctaw.
