This spring, Starkville shines. There’s no shortage of things to do and places to go for the whole family. Whether an SEC sporting event, outdoor recreation, historical sites, festivals, concerts or art events, there’s something for everyone in Starkville.

April 7 - 9, don your maroon for Super Bulldog Weekend. The 32nd annual event will feature three full days of Mississippi State University athletic events on campus. Be sure and catch the Maroon and White spring football game kickoff at 3 p.m. at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday, April 8. Admission is free. Coach Andy Cannizaro’s Diamond Dawgs will host Kentucky in a three-game set at Dudy Noble Field throughout the weekend and Coach Matt Roberts and the men’s tennis team will play host to Texas A&M and Louisiana State University. Sports fans have plenty of opportunity to take in the Bulldogs with softball, baseball, football and tennis.

On Saturday of Super Bulldog Weekend, revel in color at the Cotton District Arts Festival, presented by the Starkville Area Arts Council. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. in the historic Cotton District. Enjoy art, music, food and community. Over 125 artisans take part in a juried art competition and show, writer’s village, a student art competition and the Taste of Starkville restaurant competition.

Spend a lovely April weekend exploring Starkville, with its wide array of restaurants, art galleries, shops and events. Shop to your heart’s delight or visit the Starkville Community Market, chock full of local produce, arts and crafts. Downtown Starkville is home to a bevy of bakeries, bars, coffee shops and restaurants, so get ready to savor! Or, enjoy the spring day with the Starkville Arts Walking Tour, which will guide you through historic sites and attractions in downtown Starkville.
