As the beautiful spring weather greets Starkville, this beloved college town is bustling with fun for the whole family. Between SEC sporting events, arts festivals, historic events, and live music, there’s something for everyone in Starkville–whether you consider yourself a Bulldog or not!

For the adventurous kids in your life, Volunteer Starkville will host their 2018 Touch-A-Truck at the Starkville Sportsplex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m on Saturday, April 7th. With the purchase of a $5 wristband, children of all ages get an all-access pass to learn about and explore vehicles of all types–public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, and delivery–and, yes, climb on them! Parents get in free for a day of family fun with cool trucks, face painting, balloon animals, and snacks.

As April 20-22 rolls around, it’s time pull out your maroon and white and get ready for Super Bulldog Weekend! One of Starkville’s busiest weekends of the year, these few days are packed with SEC events, making it the ideal destination for the sports fan. All weekend, Coach Vann Stuedeman and his MSU Softball team will be taking on Florida at Nusz Park, while Coach Gary Henderson and the Mississippi State Diamond Dawgs will be battling it out with Arkansas at the new Dudy Noble Field. On Saturday, head over to Davis Wade Stadium to see the Bulldogs take the field at 1 p.m. for the Maroon and White Spring Football Game. Admission is free–and cowbells are, of course, encouraged. State fans can see football, baseball, and softball games taking place on this spectacular sports weekend!

Super Bulldog weekend is undoubtedly a spectacular sports weekend, but it also offers a delightful dose of arts and culture! On April 21, gather your family and friends and take to the streets of Starkville to enjoy the historic Cotton District Arts Festival. The festival includes over 125 artisans and vendors, a juried art competition and show, a Writer’s Village, Taste of Starkville restaurant competition, a 5k and fun run, pet parade, student art competition, and so much more! Recently voted by Mississippians as the state’s best festival, the Cotton District Arts Festival offers a slew of incredible art, music, and food that showcase Starkville in all of its glory.

This spring, enjoy a beautiful weekend in charming Starkville–savor the town’s flavors at its many local, bakeries, restaurants and bars; get a glimpse of local talent at its art galleries; and enjoy its many local shops and events. Whether you’re grabbing a drink on the patio of one of the Cotton District’s bars, browsing through Downtown’s shops with a cup of local coffee in hand, strolling as you take a Starkville Arts Walking Tour, or something in between, Starkville is calling.
