Even though the weather is turning crisp and temps are cooling down, the fun is just heating up in the Hub City! In Hattiesburg, fall kicks off with events to please every kind of adventurer. Whether you’re looking for food, dance, live music, or more, Hattiesburg is where it’s at this October!

Speaking of live music, Live at Five takes place every Friday evening in October from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Live at Five is a free, outdoor music event held at Town Square Park in downtown HBURG. Plan to grab a bite to eat from one of the many local food vendors on site for a taste of local flavor or pack your own cooler. Don’t’ forget to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for the whole family. Pets and dancing shoes welcome!

Throughout the city, enjoy Hattiesburg’s first Restaurant Week Oct. 7 through 14. It’s an OctoberFEAST! This partnership between the tourism bureau, local restaurants, and hotels is the perfect opportunity to dive in to Hattiesburg’s culinary scene. The weeklong event features a progressive hotel dinner to kick off the celebration and themed days like Midtown Monday, Ethnic Eats, FriYAY, BrunchBurg and more.

Hattiesburlesque is a local favorite that can’t be missed. Celebrating its 10th show this season, the burlesque inspired musical revue is high-energy, high-class, and high-fun! Slated for Oct. 18-20 at the Thirsty Hippo, tickets are already on sale. Costumes, cheering, and curiosity encouraged!

If you like a little bit of spooky mixed with history, enjoy the second annual Dearly Departed Walking Tours throughout Downown Hattiesburg. Hear stories of HBURG’s past from the ghosts who lived them. Sure to be a spooktacular time on Oct. 29, the tours sold out within hours last year. But be warned… it’s not for the faint at heart!

This fall, Hattiesburg is ready and waiting for you to craft your own adventure! Join locals at any of these (and many other) events to experience the authentic vibe that makes the Hub City unique! For more information, head over to VisitHBURG.org.
